June 2016

It has been a weekend of extremes. It all started very well with a steeplechase win on Friday night...

however I was upset when my food ran out and even worse, The Monster Under The Stairs (aka the vacuum cleaner) held the new bag hostage delaying the start of my camping trip.

Wow - it was warm and sunny so we spent the whole day at Grafham Water exploring some of the lesser used tracks.
Not sure what that big bird in the background is.

Look at this stick just waiting to be thrown in (my tennis ball accidentally got left behind but I made do)!

Lots of walking and swimming followed by even more walking and swimming was great fun.

Erm - I can't really explain this one!

Why walk on the ground when the wall of the dam gives a far better view?

I went back to the campsite a very happy but tired boy where I had a lovely snuggle in my sleeping bag. Our little tent did a super job of keeping us dry and warm during a large rain / thunderstorm overnight so I was ready to go again in the morning. This time it was a trip to Priory Park before heading home (but not before another swim)!

May 2016

It is my birthday this month so I was taken camping to my favourite place for a special treat. I got the weekend off to a great start with swimming, digging (and chasing the odd seagull).

After a beach swim, we went to the local dog show where I got my first ever clear round :-) Afterwards I showed my appreciation for my treat by helping with the washing up.

Sunday - the start of even more fun. A beach walk to begin with then a trip to Dereham UKA. I can't wait for my turn but queuing in the sun is nice.

Look what I got! My first UKA rosette :-)

To top off a lovely weekend, I came second in Hula's scurry and came home with a bed full of goodies. Apparently I am not allowed them all at once...

I loved my weekend and am now going to have a long rest (guess what I'll be dreaming about)!

April 2016

I have had a wonderful time exploring the Peak District.

And we are off. It has been sunny (mostly) with lots of blue skies.

One rainy day did give me the chance to try out a waterproof coat!

I have found a new luxury to enjoy after a rainy walk :-)

My exploring has given me two new ideas for agility obstacles...

I even developed my own technique!

Exploring is hard work! After four nights away it's not just my legs - even my tail is tired!

Do you think this means I can sit on the seat on the way home?

March 2016

Waiting to go - keeping my beady eye on backpack preparations. Always a sign of a good long walk.

Half way stop - time for a cool off!

Look at all that - ripe for exploring...

Ivinghoe Beacon - the highest point. Time to go back to our campsite at the bottom of the hill.

Phew - over two hours of walking in the sun so time for a rest. It's a good job they have THE BEST dog TV channel here. I can lay and watch from my very own sleeping bag.

February 2016

I am enjoying February. I have towed my human friend round ParkRun twice (114th then 81st out of 400).
The best bit has been going camping and walking along the Grand Union Canal.
I really liked the campsite as the owners had thoughtfully left an old tennis ball under a bench - good for chewing!

I had a cosy night even though the mercury was below zero overnight as I was wrapped up in my sleeping bag AND dog coat.

A bit nippy at the start of the next day of walking. I learnt to tap the ice with my paw to get some water. Don't worry - I know not to walk on the ice in case I fall through.

A little while later the sun came out - woof!

After a lovely morning walk including lots of wildlife watching, we caught the train home for a rest. ParkRun tomorrow anyone?!

January 2016

I tried to go camping at the start of the month but ended up sleeping in the car as the campsite we intended to stay at was shut (waterlogged).

Take two - Norfolk Coast
A successful trip. Got a finishers medal for our first ever canicross race at Thetford.  After a short car journey we had a nice walk around Burnham Deepdale / Brancaster area before snuggling down in the tent. I tried out my new dog coat overnight - very toasty! Sunday morning was a warm 11oC - had a long beach walk / swim / game of fetch. Now snoozing on the sofa back home. Please excuse my sleep-woofs - I think my dreams this afternoon will be quite exciting!

Last year (2015)

I like reading the microadventure blog and in the spirit of this, decided to go camping every month in 2015. I managed this and it was suggested I create a blog to record my adventures in 2016.
